Ali Sweeps and Scores!
Last weekend the mighty Tokyo Wombats Cricket Club (5x time Japan Division One Cricket Champions!) held their End of Season Awards Night at the Big Iowa BBQ in Roppongi. A solid core group turned out to celebrate the many highlights of the past season.
We had our 2nd hattrick in the club’s history taken by youngster Archit on debut, captain Ali scoring his maiden ton for the team, and the ever consistent Alex P scoring a heap of runs, edging closer to 4,000 career runs for the side!
Plenty of pints, and plenty was had with captain Ali sweeping the main awards with both the Golden and Silver Wombat for best player in JCL and T20 competitions which is a club first! Congratulations! The Alex Patmore award for Best Batsman went to……Alex Patmore! and Bowler of the Year went to rookie Archit Chaudhury.
Huge thanks to Joe at Big Iowa BBQ and all the lads for making it a great day! Up the Wombats in season 2024!
